Provides funding for easements on private land in the Upper Verde River watershed in Arizona to The Nature Conservancy

The focus area of the project is the 345,000-acre Chino Valley Grasslands, overlying the Big Chino Aquifer.


Elligibility

Strategic implementation of entity-held conservation easements, with a 5-year goal of the perpetual encumbrance of up to 20,000 acres of private lands.


Available Funding

12,439,000 (5 year grant starting in 2024) in NRCS funding, matched 1:1 by partners for total of $23 million
