Description

Unilever offers three different regenerative ag programs. One for Soy in Iowa, another for Wheat in North Dakota, and Rice in Arkansas. They use Field2Market’s Fieldprint Calculator to give better ideas on the impact/payment.

Covered practices include Cover Crops (Iowa)

Rice (Water Usage)

Wheat (Fertilizer Optimization, Cover Crops)


Elligibility

You have to deliver into their supply chain. They track volumes.

Arkansas delivered directly to the supplier. ND directly to the supplier. Iowa to various Coop’s and such.


Available Funding

Iowa 10-15$ / acre – Unlimited Acres

Caps for Rice/Wheat per farmer NOT SURE PRICE

Length of Contracts

Proof of sale into Unilever’s supply chain, then receive payment

1-year agreement typically

3-year agreement (Soy)


Cost-share requirements?

$5-10/acre Rice (Cover Crops, Biodiversity (flooding), Chicken fertilizer)

Soy (Cover Crops) $10-15/acre

Wheat (Fertilizer, other options)


Required Documentation (prove ownership/lease arrangements)

Prove that they planted cover crops (receipt for seed)

Tracking (PFI in Iowa works with coops “middleman”)

Rice program (U of Ark – monitoring station in each field – only 10 farmers enrolled)

ND – prove to do the practice(s).
